Suffragette City!

Our very own Dena Murphy is one of a 100 women invited to take part in Suffragette City, BBC Radio Manchester’s project celebrating 100 years since women were given the vote. At this week’s Lunch Club at The Little Lavender Tearooms, Dena Murphy took her very first selfie – well done Dena!

Film Club March 2017

This Sunday we are showing I, Daniel Blake – the much acclaimed film directed by Ken Loach. The film will be followed by Afternoon Tea.

Time: Doors open at 12.30 pm for 1.00 pm start

family historyThis Autumn we are hoping to expand the capacity of our current Family History group which will resume on Friday 9th September . We would very much like to offer all participants FULL USE of  the Ancestry website (, but in order to do this we need to increase the number of people attending on a weekly basis. As a member of our Family History group you will be able to:

  5. Discover further fascinating collections – like the British Phone Books records, newspaper archives and University alumni
  6. Access invaluable pre-1837 Parish and Probate records
  7. Explore Ancestry’s Irish record collections
