Unfortunately, we have had to suspend NEPHRA’s much loved Lunch Club over the lock-down period.  We did not want our local residents to miss out on a healthy, home cooked meal though and so have replaced our Lunch Club with our new Meals on Wheels Service.

Since March, NEPHRA have been preparing and delivering 120 nutritious three course meals on a weekly basis, and the demand for our service keeps growing.

All meals are freshly prepared on-site, and then delivered locally by our team of volunteers, using produce grown on our own NEPHRA Allotment. 

Clients have a choice of two menus every week, each encompassing a starter, main course and a desert.  Examples of our menu are:

Cottage Pie & Vegetables

Lasagne & Garlic Bread

Fruit Crumble & Custard

Poached Pears & Cream  

We are able to cater to Diabetic, Gluten Free and Vegetarian dietary requirements and we welcome feedback and new menu requests. Menus are seasonal, to allow us to make the best use of the produce from our allotment and clients can order more than one meal, which can then be frozen and eaten at a later date.

We have had fantastic feedback from our service users, who said things like

Not only do we deliver to our own NEPHRA clients, we have been working in partnership with other local organisations to increase the reach of our Meals on Wheels Scheme.
